Client Type: Homeowner
Location: Lancaster, PA
Services Provided: Rebuilding deck in composite
Timeline: 2 weeks
The Challenge (Before)
Our customer’s wood deck had served them well for over 20 years, but time and weather had taken their toll. The boards were rotting, the framing no longer met code, and the structure was sagging. The homeowners wanted a deck that would last longer, require less upkeep, and still complement the character of their home.

Our Approach
We started by fully removing the old wood deck. Because of the home’s age, nothing was square — which meant we had to carefully tailor the new framing to match. On top of that, the ground was too rocky to use an auger to dig footers. Instead, we dug them by hand to make sure every post had a solid, secure base.
Since composite decking requires different framing measurements than wood, we rebuilt the entire frame to meet inspection requirements and to support the heavier, more durable Trex composite decking the homeowners selected from Home Depot.
The Results (After)
In just two weeks, the old deck was transformed into a modern, low-maintenance outdoor space. The new Trex composite boards won’t rot, splinter, or need yearly staining, and the updated framing ensures the deck is safe, secure, and built to code. The homeowners now have a durable space to enjoy for decades to come.

Client Feedback
The homeowners were thrilled to see the transformation. They loved knowing they won’t have to deal with yearly upkeep and that their investment will hold up over time.
